Welcome to the official website of
Upchurch Parish Council
Upchurch is situated just off the A2, between Rainham and Sittingbourne, in the County of Kent. It has been here for centuries, and is now a bustling village, population approximately 2,500, which still retains a rural atmosphere, despite being within easy reach of the Medway Towns, the north Kent coast and many other places of interest such as Canterbury and Rochester
Upchurch has many facilities, such as a fine 13th Century church, a thriving primary school, a busy Village Hall, three pubs, farm shops, a golf course and many other activities, making it both a good place to live and to visit.
The Parish Council normally meets every first Thursday of the month (excluding August, when there is no meeting). Please refer to the Minutes and Agendas page for details of time and location.
Our Useful Links page contains details of various sites for finding out what is happening in the village, logging faults with roads, pavements, street lights and public rights of way as well as other helpful links for travel, weather and what to do in an emergency.
MAY 2015 ELECTONS
In May 2015 the Parish Council's term of office comes to an end and candidates can apply to form the new Council. Upchurch is currently formed of 9 Councillors. If 9 or less candidates apply then they will form the new council. If there more than 9 candidates an election will be arranged by Swale Borough Council at the same time as the Borough Council elections. This will take place on 7th May 2015.
